About Paul Falworth

Paul, a Carmel-by-the-Sea, California homeowner, affiliated with the Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI) and The Crucible, fabricates his final sculptures at his Studios with plasma cutters, copper MIG welding, acetylene torches, wet chop saw, polishing turntables and slumping kilns.

Paul's sculpture background commenced with painted ceramic sculptures which quickly migrated to hot glass sculptures in 1997. Paul's experience at BAGI has been specifically with 'free-form' hot glass dichroic sculptures, multiple gathers and large amounts of color.

Paul's adventure backpacking, focusing on developing nations rich in culture, has been ideal for the shapes, patinas and feelings expressed in his glass and metal sculptures. Paul's travels have covered over 70 countries form the jungles of Papua New Guinea to the Amazonian rainforests of the Ecuadorian Oriente to the roof-of-the-world in Lhasa, Tibet.
